PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), Thursday (6/3/2014) mobilized 2 water bombing helicopters to help tackle haze due to land and forest fires that occurred in Riau Province, precisely in the area of PT NSP, Meranti Islands District.
The two helicopters are Eurocopter AS350B3e PK-RGH who perform water bombing 25 times and helicopters PK-RGG who perform water bombing as much as 31 times.
Water bombing is later expected to reduce smog that happened in Riau, which is currently causing some parts of Sumatra shrouded in smog, disrupt flight, and resulted in onset of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI).http://www.halloriau.com/read-lingkungan-44494-2014-03-07-pt-rapps-helicopters-help-land-and-forest-fire-fighting.html
